Why Medicare planning matters

Medicare is one of the most important—and sometimes confusing—parts of your retirement plan. The choices you make about coverage can have a lasting impact on your healthcare costs, quality of care, and retirement income.

We guide you through every step, helping you avoid costly mistakes, unnecessary gaps in coverage, and unexpected premium increases.

Our Approach

Medicare is a vital part of a well-rounded retirement plan—ensuring you have access to quality, affordable healthcare as you age. Making smart Medicare choices can help you save money, protect your retirement income, and ensure you’re covered when it matters most. At DHL Wealth Management, we guide you through every step, focusing on three key areas:

When to Enroll

Enrolling in Medicare at the right time is critical to avoid costly gaps in coverage or lifelong penalties.
Your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) starts three months before the month you turn 65, includes your birthday month, and continues for three months after—giving you a total of seven months to sign up.

Structure & Coverage

Medicare has different “parts,” each with specific coverage.

Choosing between Original Medicare (Parts A & B) + Part D, or a Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C) depends on your healthcare needs, provider preferences, and budget. We help you evaluate each option so you get the right coverage without overspending.

Determining Cost's

Your Medicare costs depend on your income, the coverage you choose, and your healthcare usage:

We help you compare options to identify the most cost-effective plan for your needs, and review your choices annually to keep you in the best position.

Even with Medicare, you’ll still have deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance—and there’s no cap on your out-of-pocket costs. Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans fill these gaps, giving you predictable healthcare expenses and protecting your savings from unexpected medical bills.
